Crag Steward : Sam North

Management: Mt Alexander Regional Park is managed by Parks Victoria: https://www.parks.vic.gov.au/places-to-see/parks/mount-alexander-regional-park

Cultural and Environmental Values : Leeanganook is of cultural significance to the Dja Dja Wurrung and Taungurung peoples. The following videos describe some of this connection:

Mt Alexander has a native vegetation overstorey of Manna Gum, Messmate, Long-leaved Box and Yellow Box. Below the canopy are native grasses, herbs and wildflowers. This provides habitat for Black Wallabies, Eastern Grey Kangaroos, Echidnas, Brushtail and Ringtail Possums, Sugar Gliders and the rare Tuanor Brush Tailed Phascogale.

Protection: There are currently no specific protection areas identified. Climbers should demonstrate care and respect in any area they visit.

Climbing Impact Assessments: Mt Alexander has many climbing locations spread throughout the park, including many boulders. A Crag Assessment has been completed for Dog Rocks, the most popular single area. Climbing impacts are largely limited to erosion of paths and staging areas.
